Working with your students remotely
Date: Thursday, April 30, 2020
Time: 11:00 a.m. to 11:40 a.m.
Zoom Meeting
We will have suggestions and tips for
working remotely with your students.
One of our Program Managers will
provide some teaching suggestions and
moderate a discussion targeted at
three levels:
Literacy, Beginning Plus,
and more Advanced Learners.
Please join us even if you are
not actively tutoring your
student at this time!
Many tips may be useful when you
are able to meet face to face again!
Choose your Zoom meeting
according to your student’s level:
A. Literacy
Students with very limited
communication skills.
Possibly working in a Literacy
Workbook (learning letters, sounds
and basic vocabulary) or Book 1 in an
ESL Series.
B. Beginning Plus
Students able to communicate.
Possibly working in Book 1 or
Book 2 in an ESL Series,
Stories Plus, Novel Scenes 1, 2,
3, and 4.
C. Advanced Learners
Students with higher
communication skills.
Possibly working in Book 3 or Book 4
in an ESL Series, News for You,
or their level is beyond a textbook.
If you have students in multiple levels,
we will be recording the meeting
and sharing notes from each level
with all tutors, so choose one level
to attend that will be most
helpful to you at this time.
